Steven K. Bowling was born in Hamilton, Ohio. Mr. Bowling graduated magna cum laude from Carson-Newman College with a Bachelor of Science in 1971. In 1973, he became a Certified Public Accountant. He received his Juris Doctor with Honors from the University of Tennessee College of law in 1987. Prior to joining Howard & Howard, Mr. Bowling was the managing partner of the law firm of Shumate & Bowling in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mr. Bowling focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning and probate matters, taxation and tax controversies for estates, business law for individuals and closely-held businesses and general business planning.
