Heather G. Anderson was born in Humboldt, Tennessee. Ms. Anderson graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee where she was Phi Beta Kappa, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1995. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Memphis in 1998. She received the Dean's Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and authored "Exercising Personal Jurisdiction Based on Internet Contacts" published in the Tennessee Journal of Practice and Procedure. Prior to joining Howard & Howard, Ms. Anderson practiced law with the Memphis, Tennessee firm of Young & Perl. Ms. Anderson received the Memphis Business Journal's Top Under 40 Award in 2002, and was the only attorney to receive such award that year.

In 2007, she participated in the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Class.  She is an active member of the Tennessee Lawyers' Association for Women and the East Tennessee Lawyers' Association for Women, serving as President of ETLAW in 2005 and 2006.  Since 2007, Ms. Anderson has been a member of the Tennessee Bar Foundation's IOLTA Grant Review Committee.  In 2008, she co-chaired the Knoxville Bar Association's Functions Committee.  Ms. Anderson is an active community volunteer.
